合同當事人一方（保險公司），同意如果一個指定的未來不確定事件（被保險事件）投保人產生不利影響，以補償投保人接受來自另一方（投保人）顯著保險風險。
A contract under which one party (the insurer) accepts significant insurance risk from another party (the policyholder) by agreeing to compensate the policyholder if a specified uncertain future event (the insured event) adversely affects the policyholder.
