中央銀行貸款給商業銀行或金融機關時所收取的利率。貼現率的調高或降低往往間接影響銀行對客戶所收取的利率，同時也常引起債券及股票市場強烈的反應。美國的中央銀行是聯邦儲備局，在香港則是金融管理局。
