商業承兌匯票是由收款人簽發，經付款人承兌，或由付款人簽發並承兌的票據。銀行承兌匯票是由收款人或承兌申請人簽發，並由承兌申請人向開戶銀行申請，經銀行審查同意承兌的票據。商業匯票承兌後，承兌人負有到期無條件支付票款的責任。如承兌人賬戶存款不足，銀行將給收款人退票，同時銀行向付款人處以罰款。商業匯票承兌期限，由交易雙方商定，最長不超過九個月。
